Prof. Dr. Mustafa ALİŞARLI

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alişarlı was born on 05.07.1968 in Terme district of Samsun. He graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ankara University in 1989.

He started working as a research assistant at Department of Food Hygiene and Technology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Yüzüncü Yıl University in 1991. He was awarded the title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine after completing his doctorate training at Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at University of Zurich in 1997. He was appointed as an assistant professor doctor at Department of Food Hygiene and Technology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Yüzüncü Yıl University in 1998.

In 2003, he attended Berlin Freie University, Germany as a visiting scholar under the scholarship of Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft by the Scientist Training Group at the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).

In 2004, he was titled and authorized as associate professor. In 2006, he was awarded the “Veterinary Food Hygienist” of the year award in teaching fellow category by Veterinary Food Hygienists Association in 2007 World Veterinary Doctors’ Day Awards program within the framework of the Project “Developing a Sustainable Health Consciousness”. In 2008, he was appointed as Founding Director of National Food Reference Laboratory by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

In 2009, he was appointed as professor at Department of Food Hygiene and Technology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU). Between 2010-2013, he was the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at OMU, a member of the Faculty Board, a member of the University Management Board and the Senate, a member of the Management Board of Institute of Health Sciences at OMU, and Head of Department and Division of Food Hygiene and Technology.

Since 19 March 2014, he has been the acting Coordinator of Steering Committee of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Group (TOVAG) at TUBITAK.

Since 10 March 2017, he has been the acting Director of Research Support Programs (ARDEB) of TUBITAK.

He worked as a coordinator, assistant researcher or project consultant in 22 projects supported by TUBITAK (VHAG, TOGTAG, VAP, TARP, BIDEB, BMBF-INTENC (Germany) Joint Call, Yüzüncü Yıl University and Ondokuz Mayıs University Scientific Research Projects Department, Ministry of Health Strategy Department, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock General Directorate of Agricultural Research and Policies, and Samsun Provincial Special Administration Department of Research and Development.

He has 56 scientific papers published in national and international scholarly journals and 45 proceedings presented in scientific meetings and published in proceedings books.
